Some testimonials and pictures from our happy charterers

Yacht Chartered : Dream On

Thank's to the Team at CYA for a great holiday, from the great instruction from Brendon on how to handle "DREAM ON" and some common sense, our sailing was trouble free.

There is soooooo much to see around the Whitsunday's and we could not possibly have enough time to see it all so we will have to come back.

The snorkeling was outstanding and the fish life abundant, the colour of the water has to be seen to be believed. Our families were hesitant on the sailing so it was left up to My ship mate and I to experience a charter boat around this pristine part of the world, well didn't they miss out.

Everyone who has viewed the photo's were envious and I think the family would be shackled to my wrists on the next trip. From start to finish the charter experience was outstanding and if in any doubt a simple radio call is all you need; even the debrief was fun. Should be on anyone's bucket list, at least once.

See you next trip

Firstly, let me say I have never written a testimonial for anyone in my 53 years. Secondly, CYA did not ask for this, I offered it. My crew and I had such a great time we thought we should encourage others to bareboat.

We took the sleepaboard option the night prior to sailing. Good value for the 8 of us and it allowed us to familiarise ourselves with the boats appointments. We self provisioned for 10 days and during the day we stocked up. I was amazed at the amount of fridge/freezer space – we fitted the beer in and still had room for the food!

The briefing with Peter on sail day was totally professional. I had some sailing experience on monohulls but most of the crew were raw. Peter’s emphasis was on crew safety, and he gave us good tips on where to visit and anchor. Also good tips on where not to visit and anchor!

We sailed to a mixture of anchorages, moorings and a visit to Hamilton Island. Although only a week after the cyclone, snorkelling at Blue Pearl Bay was as good as the outer reef.

The daily scheds were interesting and often quite funny. When we moored at Stonehaven CYA boats were on every available mooring – not sure where the other charterers slept that night! I can’t remember any CYA boats saying something wasn’t working or broken, unlike many of the other boats. And none of us radioed in saying “I can’t sail because my GPS is broken”, or “bring out some tea towels because we have none”. That to me is proof of the CYA preparation and briefings.

From the day we started asking about a charter to well after our charter finished, the CYA staff were totally professional, friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Lisa, Peter and Paddy.

Will we do it again?

Absolutely.

This is our fourth charter with you and we have nothing but praise for you and your wonderful staff, always helpful and make sure we always get the greatest service. Smiling faces and family type welcome that is what makes CYA the best in the Whitsundays. We felt like we were coming home not going on a holiday. Dream on was in pristine condition when we boarded her on the Wednesday and we always come to expect the best with CYA.

Hi All at Charter Yachts Australia,

I know it has taken some time to send you a testimonial but better late than never!

In May this year we had a wonderful 7 days aboard the 'Orsum', your beautiful 44 foot power catamaran. The 'Orsum' was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. It exceeded our expectations. Even with six people on board, there was still plenty of room to slip away for some quiet reading. The weather was perfect and very welcomed coming up from the iciness of Canberra.

The start to our adventure, the tutorial, was fun. We were given loads of information and felt well prepared especially with the continued support available from your staff throughout the holiday.

At first I thought this type of vacation would be too laid back with not enough variety of things to do. How wrong I was. Everyday was a new adventure with planing our course for the day, fishing, snorkling and treking. We didn't even go near the resort islands as we had plenty of activities to do.

The week was full of magical memories of the stunning whitehaven beach, turtles, dolphins and colourful sea life.

Being back in reality has caused me to daydream regularly about the tropical paradise of the Whitsunday Islands. I would not hesitate to recommend a Charter Yachts Australia cruise to anyone and look forward to our next adventure with you.

We had the pleasure of joining Arjan from BVI Yacht Charters on a week cruise in the Whitsundays on the new 44 Lightwave, a fantastic catamaran.  Having sailed often in the BVI’s, the Whitsundays seemed right at home.  Islands were close enough that you could enjoy a different one each day or return to one you previously enjoyed.  What breathtaking scenery above and below the water.

The Coral and sea life were amazing.  Each island had its own unique ambience whether it be hiking, snorkeling or perusing the shops in the resorts like Hamilton Island where we had a wallaby come sit beside us on the beach.  We thank John and Annie for a great time.  Everything from chartering to provisioning was simple.  We will return.
Thanks for a memorable time.
