Being a boutique Whitsunday Islands bareboat charter company, Charter Yachts Australia would like to offer you a full service charter and are happy to assist in all aspects of your holiday – from getting you to and from the airport, looking after your accommodation at the beginning or end of your charter, or booking an additional tour to make the most of your time in the Whitsundays.

Getting Here by Air

Whitsunday Coast Airport

Whitsunday Coast Airport is an easy 45 minute drive from our Charter Yachts Australia base at Coral Sea Marina (formally Abell Point Marina) Airlie Beach. Getting to and from the airport couldn’t be easier, it’s well organised with shuttles buses, taxis and car rental services available.

Shuttle Bus

With door to door service and a travel time of 45 minutes , this is the most cost effective way between the airport and Airlie Beach

How to Book
Once your charter is confirmed just provide us with you flight details and number of guests and we’ll make your booking. Payment can be settled prior to arrival or at check in.

Shuttle Bus Fares

  • Adults:
    $25 one way/$42 Return
  • Children (ages 3 – 12):
    $13 one way/$21 Return
  • Infants 2 and under:
    Free of Charge

Taxi & car rental services are also available to/from Whitsunday Coat airport. Please see the ‘Getting Around’ information below for details.

Hamilton Island Airport

As an alternative to travelling from Hamilton Island to Airlie Beach, you can have your boat delivered to Hamilton Island at the start of your charter, or leave the boat there for us to collect. This will not only save you travel time, but may save you ferry costs depending on your number of crew.

Delivery Fees

  • Pick up from Hamilton Island (start): $650 includes overnight berth first night of charter
  • Drop off at Hamilton Island (finish): $650 includes overnight berth last night of charter

Conditions

Pick Up/Start – you must be available to start the brief between 11am and 1pm on your first charter day to allow sufficient time to complete the brief. Due to berth availability, brief start times cannot be before 11am and are subject to weather conditions for the delivery time of the boat.

Drop Off/Finish – return time is 9am on your last charter day (recommended to come in night prior and berth is included with delivery fee) and please allow 30 minutes for the debrief. If you need to disembark the vessel prior to this time or our staff arriving, please ensure to advise Charter Yachts Australia before leaving the vessel.

Book a Ferry

Charter Yachts Australia encourages a Carbon Offset Option if flying or a contribution to a Carbon Offset Organization like GreenFleet or Tasman Environmental if driving and help offset your carbon footprint.

Getting here by car

Airlie Beach and The Whitsunday Islands are located 1095km north of Brisbane and 620km south of Cairns. Follow the Bruce Highway until Proserpine and then take the turn off to Airlie Beach via Shute Harbour Road to get to us.

Car parking is available at our home base situated in Coral Sea Marina from $10-$12 per day and includes spaces for caravans and trailers. Alternatively, a secure undercover parking service is also available from $30 per day minimum 5 nights + $10 every additional night. This service offers valet pick up and drop off from the marina and can accommodate high top campers and caravans, as well as trailers.

Bookings are required and can be done via your charterer forms once your charter is confirmed.

Getting here by Rail

Queensland Rail’s ‘Spirit of Queensland’ runs between Brisbane & Cairns, stopping at Whitsunday Coast town of Proserpine with shuttles services then connecting you to Airlie Beach & Coral Sea Marina.

Discount pension rates are available for Queensland Rail tickets.

Getting Around

Once you have arrived in Airlie Beach you may want to take a look around before or after your charter. There’s plenty to see and do in the heart of the Whitsunday Islands… make the most of your holiday.

Budget, Avis and Hertz are all available from the arrivals terminal with offices also located in Airlie beach.

Cost is approximately $80 – $100 to/from Airlie Beach.

Uber rideshare is also available in the Whitsundays.

Walking

Airlie Beach is a coastal resort town considered to be the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. The town centre is a mere 10 minutes walk from the marina and boasts a multitude of facilities including restaurants, cafes, pubs & clubs, shops & fashion boutiques, major supermarkets, sporting facilities and a wide range of accomodation options to suit every budget pre or post charter.

Charter Yachts Australia is located at Shop 10 Coral Sea Marina Resort, North Village on the waterfront path at the end of Shingley Drive. Just a short walk from the local restaurant and cafe.
